"Lex orandi, lex credendi" is an old Christian maxim first recorded in the 8th century. Basically it means "praying shapes believing" - that is, the way we pray impacts our faith as much or more than the things we learn with our minds. Believers throughout the ages have recognized the importance of internalizing our beliefs so that they impact our hearts and emotions (right brain) as well as our minds and wills (left brain.)
So this discussion appeals to your right brain instead of your left. How? By using music, which, like the daily practice of prayer, shapes our internal, right-brain beliefs in very powerful ways. Here are some Immanuel-themed songs that might help you connect with the Lord. Use them for reflection, contemplation, soaking, worship, breath prayers, or whatever helps you be with God.
